Three Long Years From Voter Approval To First Medical Marijuana Dispensary

It’s been three years since Massachusetts voters overwhelmingly approved the use of medical marijuana. Due to legislative and regulatory issues, some were wondering if Massachusetts would ever actually allow the state’s MMJ patients to have access to the medicine.

Well, that day has finally come for at least one Massachusetts MMJ dispensary and their patients. State regulators have given the final go ahead for Alternative Therapies Group to open its medical marijuana dispensary today, Wednesday, June 24, 2015, in Salem, Massachusetts.

Patients will need to have a state-issued medical marijuana registration card to enter the new MMJ dispensary in Salem, MA, and will have to make their choice using a computer. No products will be on display.

No marijuana is grown or processed at the newly opened dispensary.
